Ohhh I love it! I either read it or heard it in the many hours of the 'making of' LOTR that they fashioned Sauron's helm to look like a horse skull. I love it how he still looks kind of...horsey <3 <3 (I'm seriously going to have nightmares now though...)
Gracias Cecilia!
That's a tricky one. Sauron lost his Annatar shape when he died for the...second or third time, I don't remember, and got stuck on his "Evil Lord" shape. This rendition would cover his looks on the 3rd age, when his body was already killed like ...a million times. Therefore, I take the liberty of making him look kinda messy and broken.
His "Dark Lord" appearance is never described in the books, so it can look like anything you want. It only says that his skin is blackened by his inner heat, and his appearance is a mirror of his twisted malevolence.
i always pictured mainly his arms and chest blackened from forging the one ring and as for the inner malevolence twisting his appearance i don't disagree but keep in mind he didn't always look like that but then again this is from a wiki page on a long afternoon some while ago
